Français au Coeur

As anyone who knows me can tell you...I am French at heart. I love anything relating to this beautiful country, and spent several years studying the language in school {although a brush up would be more than necessary for me to converse with a francophone}. As of yet, I have not made it across the ocean...but I try to create a French ambiance all around me...and long to own a home filled with French antiques. In the meantime, I try to find small treasures that help bring this distinct style into my life {whilst sticking to a rather tight budget}. One particular source that I often travel to for inspiring French style and finds is my dear friend, Tracie's blog(s) and website {two of which I had the pleasure of designing with her}. Recently, she added some objets d'art to her site...and while I have been watching my wallet...I simply had to have one...

This stunningly beautiful Marie Antoinette vintage ink bottle, that I have affectionately named "My Petite Marie," was created with such care and attention to details.  I knew that it would be beautiful and fit perfectly into my home, but I had no idea the gorgeous scent would waft through the air so lusciously! I wish I could capture it here for you to enjoy as well...it truly is amazing! 

Thank you Tracie for sharing your beautiful creations with us to enjoy! Tracie also has a gift for sending out lovely packages...she included a special gift for me with my purchase...

She also threw in more of the wonderful French tea she sends me often...and included a special something from her pal, Zeke...to my Renoir...

{there were more...but Renoir already enjoyed them...}

In the past Tracie has blessed me with other beautiful French treasures...including this lovely religious statue...

And the beautiful mother-of-pearl opera glasses that I have shown on my blog before, were a purchase from her lovely shop, with which she also included a beautiful old French postcard...

I am sure that most of you have already found your way to Tracie's beautiful "world"...but if not...you must run...not walk...over there right now! You will not be disappointed...I promise.

Spring Collection 2009

Just popping in to let you know that I have begun adding products for our Spring Collection to the shop! I hope you will stop by and see all of our latest offerings. I will continue adding more throughout the remainder of this month and next...and will have a bounty of artwork, holiday decorations, vintage and flea market finds, and blog banners! Stop by soon!

Beckoning Spring...

I don't know about you, but I am ready for spring. Living in a cold climate {for almost half of the year} can really drain a person. Not to mention all of the dark, cloudy days...without the hope of the sun peering out. Thankfully, where we live (in Western New York), the snow and ice have begun to melt...however...the temperature is still quite cool. But just looking out and seeing only a few patches of snow gives me hope...hope that spring, and the warmth of the sun, will return to my neck of the woods {hopefully} very soon.

This hope has spurned my creative endeavors...and got me a lookin' around the studio for supplies to create my Spring Collection of treasures for the shop. I have a hard time using many of the vintage items that I frequently purchase, for creating, because I can find beauty in even the smallest treasure...and have a hard time letting go. As I mentioned in a previous post or two...I am looking, however, to pare down, de-clutter...and learn to let go...

I was up to the wee hours of the morning last night creating and cannot wait to get all of the new goods listed at the shop. I hope to do so this week...but in the mean time...here is a preview of some of what is to come...
