Since many of you have expressed so much interest in my home on the Cottage of the Month, I thought I would begin sharing more of the photos that weren't able to be featured. I love details...and love taking as many photos as possible of my decorating vignettes, and hope that you will indulge me as I show them off ;) I have decided I will do them in segments based on the room...and will begin with the entryway filled with romance in honor of Valentine's day and the season of LOVE...
The above photo was featured, but really gives the full view of our entryway.
I love this lamp that we purchased at a local flea market for only 15.00. I made the chain sleeve myself...which was a labor of love as the chain goes all the way to the ground and then some!
Since it is so cold here this time of year and we are buried in snow, I brought in several of our garden angels...which of course fit in perfectly with the "love" theme. I also have an ever growing collection of old bottles, some of which are adorned with bits of lace or filled with dried flowers. The antique typewriter was purchased at a sale for only $5.00, but poor Josh had to carry it across a very lengthy parking lot...and it is not light! I printed out the "Love" banner on vintage sheet music and hung it with old clothespins (replacing the gloves that adorned it at Christmas time).
The grouping below was made up of a vintage china platter filled with strands of pearls, an old mail slot for a door, an old letter and Western Union Telegram (that we found in the trunk we have in our living room...that's a story for another day...it is filled to the brim with antique and vintage finds!)..as well as an old pocket watch from Josh's massive collection...
As you move into the living room, there is small portion of wall that is decorated with some of my favorite "French" finds...
A feathery toile lampshade...
and my favorite vase...I have had this since high school when my mother found it for me...
and one of my favorite finds of all time...a $3.00 gold mirror...with an old print inside...
I hope you will come back soon as I will invite you into the living room and beyond in my upcoming posts! Thank you again to all of you who send your compliments...you could never know how much they encourage and brighten my day! Thank you!

Oh Alice,
It's all so beautiful! I know I'm one of the many that has been begging you for days... "please may I see some more of your home?". This was a wonderful Grand Tour and again I wait for more photos. If you need help going through the trunk with all the vintage goods for photographing them, I'm free ;)
I can understand why the french vase is your favorite. What a wonderful find from your mom. And as always, I just love it all so very much! Okay, end of gushing (for now).
