Settling In...

So...we survived the move.....thankfully.  Let's just say...I have a lot of "stuff"...

And now, we are busy settling in. There is a lot of work in moving...which is why it is not my favorite thing to do. But, the peace we have found in this new, little {and I must emphasize the word little here...it is tiny!} home makes it all worthwhile.

I have decided to keep most of my "decorative" items in storage until we move again *hopefully* this summer when we are planning on buying our first place. Since this home is so small {trust me...wait until you see my new studio...err...closet} I decided to keep it simple. Well, as simple as I possibly can. I chose a few favorites to keep out...I do need some pretty things to look at after all...

Like these grain/bean sacks...

and of course all of my religious figures/statues are still with me...

 
I think it will be refreshing to be away from all of the other "stuff" for awhile. It will be like Christmas when I open all of those boxes in the future. And may help me tone down all of the clutter I amass...we'll see... 
 

Meanwhile, Renoir has been busy trying to get adjusted as well.

He couldn't find his favorite "spots" the first week...but then Josh had the idea to put his little bed on top of the dresser in our living room...one of the  main focal points in the room...

So, it's a done deal now...Renoir enjoys his view out of the big window...and I concede to not decorate on the dresser...for now anyways ;)

My next challenge is organizing and setting up that "studio" I mentioned...which will be tricky for me and my St Joshua to fit in together...but I know we will make it work somehow...and then I can begin doing what I love again...

Creating.

I am looking forward to getting back into my old routine soon...and making time to visit all of you lovely ladies. I am sure that you have been up to lots of creative and inspiring things since I have been away.

Hi Alice, so glad you are getting settled in your new home! Oh yes, moving is such hard work and can be very stressful! You do need to hurry and get your new studio set up so you can get in there and create some pretty things and unwind! I have decided to move my studio to my daughter's old bedroom, it's a bit bigger and I can start from scratch and make it the way I really want! I know it will take a while to get it done, I can imagine how much work you have been doing setting up a whole new home! Can't wait to see pics of it, I just know it will be gorgeous with your special touches! Love Renoir's new favorite spot, that is just too precious!!! Hi Alice, I always look forward to each of your new posts. It's great to have you back. I can't even imagine how much work it took to pack up all your lovely things. I know it would take me forever! But even though I don't like packing, UN-packing is a different story. i find setting up a new home so much fun! All those opportunities to try new things. I think we can get in a rut sometimes, even if we change things out often.

Hi Alice glad to read you're back and that the move went well. I know you've got a lot of stuff I know from seeing all of your wonderful stuff through out the months that I've been reading and being inspired through your blog. Make sure you keep out the things that you know you use all of the time and it will be good to get back to your normal rountine. It's funny when something happens that keep me from creating it's like I can't wait to get back to it. It's so relaxing and it's so much apart of who we really are it will help you.
