Last Sunday, we awoke to a world covered in white.
Like something that I have not seen...in a very long time.
I felt like a child, filled with excitement for the beauty and wonder of it all.
No care for the delays, fuss and problems it may cause...
Just pure enjoyment with the world painted white just for me...
And while I know that many of us are ready for Old Man Winter to take his final bow and leave us until next year...
I simply could not help but soak in the beautiful world around me...
One last time...
Joshua and I enjoyed brunch together that morning...and then traveled the countryside to capture the details.
The white houses seemed camouflaged in the snow...
And no branch could feel left out...as they were all heavily cloaked...
The rows of pine trees, no longer green, but dusted in white...
Every fence post blanketed...
as if they too...were part of nature...
Only the dark brown horses stood out...but fit in perfectly on this stretch of a country mile...
We returned home to play together in the snow {with Renoir of course}...and make an 'Old Man Winter' of our very own...
Adorned with a handmade scarf, bits of nature, and an old bird's nest Joshua pulled from a tree...
As well as an old pocket watch...to remind us that spring will return...
in due time.
Till next time...
{P.S. A sincere thank you to all of you who sent warm birthday wishes to our Monsieur Renoir this past week. He did enjoy a fine time on his birthday! And a very special thank you to Dear 'Aunt' Julie...for sending him a birthday parcel with two new friends for him to love and a very sweet birthday card. We are truly blessed by all of your love!}

Oh Alice, your photos are simply stunning! I am so ready for Spring, but you captured such beautiful photos of your big snowstorm... your surrounding countryside looks gorgeous all blanketed in snow... I especially love the one with the little creek running through it... and your snowman is so precious... although I think it is "due time" now for Spring! I also love the old wrought iron fence covered in snow... so happy to hear little Renoir enjoyed his birthday... love to you, kisses Renoir... Julie Marie (Aunt Julie to you Renoir!)

Even though I am SO ready for spring, I will admit these are lovely photos. Snow can be beautiful but I am ready for it to be gone until next winter. :) Love the snowman. Too cute!

I am looking outside, here in the White Mountains of Arizona, and everything is dusted--well, heavily coated in snow, once again. I know of nothing more beautiful than landscape with fresh, beautiful, fallen snow, regardless of the geographical location! Thank you for the wonderful pictures. The snowman almost-- note the almost-- I have shoveled too much snow this year-- smile-- makes me want to go outside and make one myself!

Oh Alice, these are some of THE MOST BEAUTIFUL snow pictures I have ever seen!!!!!!!
Love the way the little stream stands out in the first photo and the photo of the "camouflaged" white house is stunning!!! I think it's so sweet that you, Josh and Renoir made a snowman together, and he was adorned so pretty, too! I LOVE snow so much and feel blessed that we got to experience our own little winter wonderland here in South this year! Thank you for sharing such gorgeous pictures of your snow outing!
(((hugs))))

Beautiful pictures, especially the hidden white house & the fence pictures. Thanks for sharing these. I really enjoy your photos. And what a great attitude you have about the world being painted white just for you. Those moments are priceless, God just cares that much. Whoa!

Your photos are lovely, I especially love the horses and the fence, it is something else that those gorgeous creatures can stand to be in the cold. your snowman made me smile, very sweet with his handknitted scarf! you might as well cherish the snow while it is still lingering!

Lovely photos. they remind me of home, back in the woods, on a lake in Minnesota. all the trees covered and a fresh blanket of snow everywhere. I always felt like I lived in a snow globe!
Love your blog by the way!
